An honest snapshot of what's actually taking my hours this month, so the site doesn't go quiet in between Substacks. Updated whenever it stops being true. Not a highlight reel — some of it is very ordinary.

Working on

Rebuilding this site (obviously). Two long-form Substack drafts I keep re-writing the middle of. A small revision to the way I run the Session — trimming, not adding.

Reading

All Fours, Miranda July — for the second time, more slowly. The Creative Act, Rick Rubin — mostly one page at a time, first coffee. Piranesi, Susanna Clarke — again. That one lives on the nightstand permanently now.

Watching

Slow-drip through Rivals. A rewatch of Fleabag for the writing, not the story. Occasional single-episode returns to Gilmore Girls, unwatched with anyone else in the room, thank you.

Listening

An unreasonable amount of the Practical Magic soundtrack. A couple of interviews with women in their forties who are quietly rebuilding. Silence, more than usual, on purpose.

Homeschooling

My son and I are deep in an Ancient Egypt unit — pyramids, hieroglyphs, more mummification detail than either of us anticipated. Read-alouds are back to The Wild Robot. Math is math; math is fine.

Cooking

The same three soups on rotation. Trying, and mostly failing, to bake bread on Sundays. A tomato season that has gotten completely out of hand.

Not doing

Instagram, more days than not. Any launch. Any “5-day challenge.” Convincing anyone of anything.

Sitting with

The question of what I actually want the next three months to make room for. And whether I can trust the quiet enough to answer honestly.
